Tonal clay plaster in a custom green through the Aesop store in Bordeaux — smooth, with a burnishing pass that leaves cloudy movement inside one colour.

Tonal is Smooth with a burnishing pass: the same 2 mm build, worked further so the surface develops cloudy tonal variation within a single colour. It reads as depth rather than pattern, which is why it suits a room lined with product.

The green was matched to the store rather than chosen from the standard eighty-eight, and mixed through the body of the plaster. Clay is also hygroscopic and gives off effectively nothing — total volatile organic compounds below 5 µg/m³ at 28 days — which matters in a small, enclosed retail volume.
