The project
Rough-with-the-Smooth is one of twenty hand-applied custom finishes in the range, and it does exactly what the name says: a coarse open grain worked against burnished passages in the same wall, so the surface changes as you move along it.
The colour is Yellow YEL-01, through-body. Beyond the look, the material is doing work — clay buffers humidity at roughly nine times the rate of painted plasterboard, and the full-bodied textures lift the noise-reduction coefficient to 0.20–0.25, which takes the edge off a hard-surfaced room.
