The project

Smooth clay plaster at 2 mm, laid in two passes and burnished to a closed grain, carries the interior. White WHI-03 sits a shade warmer than a paint white, and because the pigment runs through the body of the material the surface reads as one continuous plane rather than a coated one.

Clay is hygroscopic: it draws moisture out of the air when a room is humid and releases it back when the room dries. In a house, that shows up as a room that simply feels settled — and as walls that never need repainting.
