The high-build member of the Microtadelakt system: a lime-based mortar with graded aggregates for 5 to 15 mm builds, used to bring an out-of-true substrate into tolerance before the finish coats go on, and for exterior work.
Where it is used
High-build levelling under Microtadelakt finish coatsHighly decorative continuous coatings for exterior walls and ceilingsOver underfloor heating and fireplacesOver old ceramic tile coverings
Substrates
Concrete and cementitious mortarsCeramicMDFPlaster and plasterboardMajor unevenness corrected mechanically before application
Application data
Coverage, thickness, mix and cure, as declared by the manufacturer. Site conditions in the Gulf sit at the top of most of these ranges — allow for it in the programme.
TypeOne-component lime-based plaster with graded aggregates
Applied thickness5 – 15 mm; 10 – 20 mm per pass
Consumption1.7 – 2.0 kg per mm per m²; a 10 mm build is 17 – 20 kg/m²
ReinforcementAlkali-resistant fibreglass mesh with 100 mm laps at joints and openings, embedded in the fresh first coat
Cure per coatTypically 12 – 24 hours per 10 – 20 mm, climate dependent
ToolsStainless steel or aluminium trowel over a primed substrate
Minimum application temperature+ 10 °C

Where not to use it
The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.
Embed continuous alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh in the first coat for any build over 10 mm and on dissimilar substratesDo not apply below 10 °CLonger cure in cold or humid conditionsPerformance figures marked 1* are measured without sealer
Specification clause
Levelling coat: Cemher Microtadelakt Thick Base lime-based plaster applied 5–15 mm over Primer 100 on the prepared substrate, at 1.7–2.0 kg per mm per m². Alkali-resistant fibreglass mesh embedded continuously in the first coat with 100 mm laps at joints and openings for any build over 10 mm. Reaction to fire Class A1 to UNE EN 13501-1:2019. Fully cured before finish coats.
Square brackets mark the choices that belong to the project. Send us the finishes schedule and we will return the clause completed, with the sample and mock-up programme against it.
Documents
Every document is the manufacturer's own, reproduced in full and unaltered under our cover. Free to download, no form.
We supply the material and we apply it, so the specification and the workmanship sit with one party. Send a finishes schedule, an elevation or a mood board and we will come back with the system, the build-up, the sample programme and a completed clause.
