The product

A hand-applied seamless sound-absorbing ceiling and wall system: an acoustical board of recycled fibre, an acoustical plaster of perlite and recycled cotton, and an acoustical coating that carries the colour. The Silk surface carrying a metallic coating. There is no grid, no tile and no visible joint.

Where not to use it

The limits are as much a part of the specification as the performance. Everything here is stated on the manufacturer's data sheet.

An interior ceiling and wall system. Not a wet-area or external finish. The acoustical board is fibreglass-based and must be adhered or mechanically fixed to one of the listed substrates. Pot life of the mixed plaster is 12 to 18 hours. Absorption is a property of the whole build-up, not the finish alone — board thickness and mounting type both change the figure. Respiratory and eye protection are required when mixing the dry powder products.
Specification clause

Acoustic plaster: Fellert Even Better Silk Metallic seamless acoustic plaster system by Styjl, comprising the Even Better acoustical board at [25 mm / 39 mm] fixed to the approved substrate with Even Better Board Adhesive or Spring Washers, Even Better acoustical plaster applied to the manufacturer's wet thickness, and Even Better Acoustical Coating in colour [ref], finished to the approved sample panel. Sound absorption NRC 0.85 at 39 mm to ASTM C423 type A mounting. Supply and application by Earth Layers as exclusive Middle East dealer for Styjl.
